Consultants are required to have:
- experience in working with UNAIDS or cosponsors;
- expertise in biological and behavioral surveillance, program design and evaluation;
- demonstrated experience in facilitation and research expertise, especially on HIV/AIDS
- demonstrated experience in developing participatory training materials;
- demonstrated experience in conducting data analysis;
- familiarity with international reporting processes;
- skills in meeting facilitation and partner coordination;
- expertise in the fields of monitoring and evaluation (M&E),
- the flexibility to respond to requests for country stakeholders at relatively short notice.
Before undertaking this consultancy consultants must:
- successfully complete a three-day training course in UNAGSS reporting (to be determined)
- familiarize themselves with the Guidelines for Second Generation HIV Surveillance, available at:http://www.who.int/hiv/pub/surveillance/en/cds_edc_2000_5.pdf
- familiarize themselves with the BSS Studies Conducted by Family Health International, submitted by countries in their region in 1989 – 2009, which are available at:http://www.fhi360.org/en/HIVAIDS/pub/survreports/res_BSS_full_list.htm
